Kùzylarsen

What is first intriguing about Mathieu Kùzylarsen is that by singing in French, he is accompanied by an oud, a string instrument from southern and eastern countries. Our man likes to travel, discover and meet, he also likes to surprise and transform. After going through storms and fury, it now offers a great deal of delicacy.

Oud, electric bass, electro-acoustic percussions, refined arrangements and calm voice, Kùzylarsen and his accomplice Alice Vande Voorde "anchor the spectators in an imaginary context, a peaceful Babylonian garden while thunder rumbles in the distance".

His songs speak to us of these human conditions which resonate as unbearable, but also of love and sensuality. "The words are revealed slowly, in the high voice which always seems to seek, beyond the unbearable surface, a little of this oxygen which is so lacking… Kùzylarsen sings in the open air."
