Nawaris - Bruxelles sur Scènes (CANCELED / COVID-19)

Nawaris is a musical ensemble, which performs traditional Iraqi music, as well as compositions by the members of the group. The oud or oriental lute, the soprano saxophone, the flute, the percussions, the cello, also sometimes singing, meet, play, engage in conversations, leaving a great place for improvisation. In August 2015, Hussein Rassim arrives in Belgium and is integrated little by little, and this very much thanks to his instrumental practice. He meets many musicians. Over the course of these meetings, the Nawaris group take shape. This musical project mixes instrumentalists from different musical aesthetics, such as jazz, Eastern and Western classical music, Balkan music. Since its creation, Nawaris has performed many times throughout Belgium, and in particular on the stages of Muziekpublique, Flagey, and at the Esperanzah festival in Floreffe. The group also recorded their first album titled "Migration" with the Homerecord label.
