Sawt

Sawt, means "Sound", echoing the sound of our intimate and deep voice. It can be understood in the singular as well as in the plural. It is also a musical genre which was contemporary with the Mouachach genre and Andalusian noubas in the 11th century, at the height of Arab-Muslim civilization.

After several concerts in Brussels  and elsewhere (Festival Allegria de Chefchaouen, Morocco; Festival du Maalouf de Constantine, Algeria, ...), the Belgian economic mission in Casablanca (Morocco) honored the instrumental formula in collaboration with solo musicians from the Royal Opera of the Théâtre de la Monnaie and the Belgian National Orchestra.

Between vocal and instrumental music, the group continues its exploration by trying to create a new musical language that merges the Western tradition (classical, jazz and pop), the Middle Eastern tradition (Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine) and the northern traditions. African (Gnaoui, Moroccan Ala, Andalous and Algerian Chaabi).
